Recorder deaf to Hotkeys when other window is active

Postby van_dell » 13 Jun 2010, 13:16

Hi,

I am running Win7 x64. The Recorder worked fine until I reinstalled and updated the OS. Now it doesn't seem to notice when I press keys when either Firefox or IE are the active window. Neither waitforkey nor hotkeys to start macros work.
To me this looks like there's some security "feature" that's supposed to contain anything that happens in the browser there so that it can't do any damage. Does anyone have an idea what it could be or even better, how to turn it off?

Thanks,
van_dell

Edit: I just notice the Recorder doesn't react when other programs like for example vlc are the active window either. I'm running recorder with Admin rights already.

The Manual says:

- In Windows Vista/Win7 it is no longer possible recording key strokes and mouse clicks in a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer). (Reason: Measures against viruses and Trojan horses which want to do password pishing). To be able recording mouse clicks anyway, the menu: 'Insert' / 'mouse entry' was added. For entering key strokes change to another window e.g. Notepad, or enter the text in the Recorder edit window.
- The above restriction (no recording in IE7) also affects the hotkeys (Hotkeys work the same way as recording key strokes). That means in Windows Vista / Win7 hotkeys can not be used in the browser.
