Bosco/Gurin

Bosco Gurin is a municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Bosco Gurin is the only German speaking village in this otherwise Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. It was settled in the course of the medieval Walser migration. Today the Walser German dialect is being abandoned in favour of the Italian language.

Bosco/Gurin

Bosco/Gurin (auch Bosco Gurin, Bosco-Gurin) liegt auf 1506 m.ü.M. Es ist damit das höchstgelegene Dorf des Kantons Tessin in der Süd-Schweiz.

Bosco/Gurin ist die besterhaltene Walsersiedlung auf der Alpensüdseite. Das ganze Dorf ist sehenswert. Daraus ragen das Haus, in welchem das Walsermuseum untergebracht ist, die Dorfkirche Jakobus und Christophorus (13. Jhdt., 1581 neuerbaut und im 17. und 19. Jhdt. umgestaltet) und die Kapelle Madonna della Neve hervor.
